How to Lower Bad LDL Cholesterol Naturally
Cholesterol is actually a critical part of your body's foundational building materials and is essential for optimal health. Your body NEEDS cholesterol—it's important in the production of cell membranes, hormones, vitamin D and bile acids that help you to digest fat. Cholesterol also helps your brain form memories and is vital to your neurological function.
There are two types of cholesterol:
HDL (High-density lipoprotein) is the "good" cholesterol that helps to keep cholesterol away from your arteries and remove any excess from arterial plaque, which may help to prevent heart disease.
LDL (Low-density lipoprotein) is the "bad" cholesterol that circulates in your blood and is prone to oxidation.
Oxidized LDL can produce inflammation in arteries, promote atherosclerosis and increases your risk of heart diesease and free radical damage. Oxidized cholesterol is introduced into your system through heated vegetable oil, fried foods, saturated fats and transfats.
Low functioning thyoid can also increase cholesterol in the body as can a diet high in fructose and especially high fructose corn syrup (HFCS).
So how can you decrease your cholesterol naturally?
Here at Vitatree we have two wonderful formulas that are safe, without negative side effects and can be taken daily.
Our Cholesterol Formula from VitaTree Nutritionals contains phytosterols (plant sterols) which block the absorption of bad cholesterol into the small intestine.
Our VitaMucil works like a fat trapper and traps the bad cholesterol and moves it out through the digestive tract.
We're seeing a lot more patients with high cholesterol levels now, because of elevated stress levels, poor diets with the wrong kind of fats. The liver becomes toxic, another part of the problem in creating those high cholesterol levels.
Using our whole food supplements is the best way of treating high cholesterol. This is true even if you are currently taking a prescription cholesterol pill. I've had a number of patients who are not yet comfortable with coming off their medications for cholesterol, so it's quite alright to take the Vitatree Cholesterol and VitaMucil at the same time as the drugs, just make sure they are at least 2 hours away from each other.
That being said, more and more of my patients refuse to take the prescribed statin drugs because of all the side effects. These can lead to diabetes as well as joint and cardiovascular issues. Your health lies in your hands. It's so important to do your research and find the most natural way to heal yourself, especially when it comes to preventing heart disease naturally and helping your circulation.
