Natural Allergy Remedies
Many of my patients suffer from allergies. This can be seasonal allergies at the beginning of Spring or ragweed and hay fever in the Fall, or can be allergies to pets, pet dander, dust, dust mites, etc. Before buying all kinds of chemical allergy medications, be aware that nature has provided many natural remedies to help with your allergies.
First, you can do a simple saline nasal flush that you can purchase at any drug store. Done twice a day, the salt water in a saline nasal flush helps clear your nasal passages of the dust and pollen that can cause sneezing and itchy watery eyes. Natural organic honey has been cross-pollinated by bees, so that you get a micro exposure to pollen, which will help de-sensitize you to pollens in the environment. I encourage you to have a little bit of natural honey every day, this will help with allergy symptoms and is a natural allergy remedy.
There are natural herbs and remedies that can also help. Quercitin is a natural antihistamine, with no side-effects and more powerful than many of the chemical antihistamines. Butterbur is another natural herb that works similarly to antihistamines. Stinging nettles is yet another herb that helps to naturally alleviate the symptoms of allergies, with no side effects. All of these herbs are part of the new VitaTree Allergy Supplement, set to be released later this year.
You always have a choice when it comes to your health. As a naturopathic doctor, I encourage you to make the most natural choices when it comes to finding solutions to things that ail you, like allergies. Nature has provided many herbs and natural remedies with no side effects, so choose the natural way to great health. And the Vita Life!
