Healthy Ovaries

As a naturopathic doctor, my mission is to treat symptoms and conditions with natural solutions. My protocol for maintaining healthy ovaries starts with detoxification. Many women have hormonal imbalances and the bad hormones, called xenoestrogens, are made worse by toxins that can be found in our environment and even in some of the makeup that we use. These chemicals find their way into our system and can make hormone imbalances even worse. The first step is to cleanse out these toxins by following a Detoxification Process. Next, I tell my patients that it’s critical to follow a Clean Diet, with plenty of fresh vegetables and fruits and very few carbohydrates. Carbs tend to stress out our endocrine system and following a low-glycemic index diet can help. This in turn will help. Fish oil has anti-inflammatory properties and is another supplement I recommend. There are many herbal medicines that I have used successfully over the years. Maca, known as Peruvian Ginseng, helps balance out the estrogen and progesterone. Vitex helps regulate the menstrual cycle and help treat the cysts. Finally, Black Cohosh helps balance the hormones and actually helps ease the pelvic pain associated with cysts. Finally, to help with the pain, I recommend using Castor Oil packs, for 45 minutes, together with a hot water bottle.; Using these natural treatments, you can maintain healthy ovaries in a natural way. And reduce the associated pain that comes with them.
