First, I notice that some of my patients tend to touch their eyes or rub their eyes frequently. Whether due to allergies or other eyes irritations, they seem to be constantly rubbing their eyes. When done with dirty hands or fingers that haven’t been sanitized, this can leave bacteria on the eyelid area and sties can form there. Just be really aware of your habits, you may not realize how often you are touching and rubbing your eyes and thereby causing the stye.

Natural Stye Home Remedy

Some people are very prone to developing sties on either their upper or lower eyelids. I want to give you some tips in how to cure a stye quickly and naturally at home. First, I notice that some of my patients tend to touch their eyes or rub their eyes frequently. Whether due to allergies or other eye irritations, they seem to be constantly rubbing their eyes. When done with dirty hands or fingers that haven’t been sanitized, this can leave bacteria on the eyelid area and sties can form there. Just be really aware of your habits, you may not realize how often you are touching and rubbing your eyes and thereby causing the stye. My first tip is quite simple. Take a regular black tea bag and steep it in hot water for about 5 minutes. Then take it and put it in the fridge for about twenty minutes. When it’s nice and cool, you place it on the sty, preferably when you’re lying down. It’s the tannins in the tea that actually help contract the tissue and speeds up the healing. The tannins also help if you have puffy eyes or have an eye infection. My next tip is to use a hot spoon, which you warm up in some hot water. It shouldn’t be too hot, so test it on your wrist first. You then place the spoon over your eye (the inverted end pointing inward so it”s cupping your eye) and keep it there until it cools down. You can then reheat the spoon and repeat. It works phenomenally well, especially if you alternate it with the hot tea bag, healing the stye will happen quite quickly and it won’t come back. Colloidal silver can be found in health food stores and is a natural antibacterial. I use it with many of my patients to treat eye infections, cuts and wounds on the skin and the like. The great thing about it is that it is non-irritating so it can be used quite safely on eyelids. What you do is drop it right on the eye or you can put it on your finger and put it on the eye where you have the stye. With these natural tips, you should be rid of the stye quickly. There is always a natural way to cure what ails you. It doesn’t have to be complicated.
