Yoga Facial Exercises : How to Lose Your Chubby Cheeks
Chubby cheeks or the accumulation of fluid and fat in the face can be a concern for both men and women.
As a Naturopathic Doctor, detoxification is of great importance. Due to the toxicity that we are faced with on a daily basis from our air, food and water, it is important to do a full body detox regularly to eliminate the toxins that have built up in our internal organs, fat cells and lymphatic system.
Facial yoga is rapidly becoming the anti-aging treatment of choice for many; it has the same benefits as yoga, but it relaxes and tones the muscles of your face.
The first exercise is called the "puffer fish". I basically involves puffing out your cheeks for about 20 repetitions. You can also try puffing out one cheek at a time for a more challenging exercise.
The next exercise we gently stretch the skin backwards while putting on a big smile. This really helps work those facial muscles. Again, you will want to do about 20 repetitions.
The last technique involves lymph drainage, to help remove toxins that may be accumulating in the face. Simply make downward strokes from the ears and cheeks down to the chin area.
In addition to face yoga exercises, be sure to drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated and cut back on the amount of salt you consume. Eating plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables can help keep the skin looking fresh, while a good probiotic can help rejuvenate it.
